Digital Literacy and Its Importance in Modern Education
Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has changed how students obtain information, communicate, and participate in learning activities. Digital literacy therefore represents more than the ability to operate computers or mobile devices; it also includes evaluating information, understanding digital ethics, maintaining online security, and communicating effectively through digital platforms. This article provides a general overview of digital literacy and its relevance to contemporary education. It highlights the importance of critical thinking when dealing with online information and discusses the role of educational institutions in preparing students for technology-rich environments. The article suggests that digital literacy should be integrated across different subjects and levels of education. Such integration may help students become more responsible, critical, and productive participants in digital society.
