Coastal regions are among the areas most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, particularly sea-level rise, coastal erosion, flooding, and ecosystem degradation. This study evaluates the effectiveness of nature-based solutions, particularly mangrove restoration, as a strategy for climate change adaptation and coastal ecosystem protection. The analysis combines land-cover data, shoreline changes, carbon storage estimates, and community exposure to coastal hazards. The results indicate that coastal areas with greater mangrove coverage have a stronger capacity to reduce wave energy and maintain shoreline stability. Mangrove restoration also has the potential to increase carbon sequestration and provide habitats for various coastal organisms. However, the success of restoration programs depends on hydrological conditions, land-use pressures, and the involvement of local communities. These findings support the implementation of nature-based solutions as part of an integrated climate adaptation strategy that combines environmental protection with sustainable coastal community development.
